but also thought id make a point - those classic 93/94/95 era records are legendary, but they werent perceived as such when they came out.  36chambers/illmatic/ready to die/etc.....werent recognized immediately as classics. 

"Illmatic" got 5 mics from The Source back when they had clout, and I'm pretty sure "Ready to Die" got 4.5. On the other hand, I just checked Pazz & Jop for 1994, and Illmatic finished at #33 - 11 spots behind Warren G.'s "Regulate ... G Funk Era."
