MP3 Bitrate Question

I am trying to register a couple of tracks in mp3 format with TuneCore. The problem is that the mp3s I have are hovering around 130 kbps and I need them to be 300 kbps. Does anyone know if there is a way to change the bitrate of these files without destroying or severely compromising them? Forgive me for coming off as a digitadummy. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Once an MP3 is ripped you can go down but you can't go up. You can fake going up but it won't actually be that bitrate.

Do you have a copy of the CD available? Your best bet is to rip your own CDs with Max if you have a Mac or Exact Audio Copy if you have a PC. I understand EAC is supposed to be the standard in audio ripping, but I haven't had any experience with it.

If you want, I can make screencaps of the proper settings on Max to achieve V0 rips.
