Hunter S. Thompson wasn't.

I'll settle for better teeth than Shane MacGowan.

Better than the Pogues?  Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
I love the Pogues version of "Dirty Old Town". Just think the TL version is at least on that level. Just one man's o'pinion (that's Irish for opinion).

That's the amazing thing about TL, though. He is able to take songs and make them sound fantastic, but very different, and very much like a Ted Leo song. Like that "Since You've Been Gone" song. Have you heard him do any Curtis Mayfield? It's pretty amazing.

He makes Rush sound good.  Need I say more?  As for what album to buy, Tyranny is one of the greatest albums ever but each of the /Rx albums are great.  And while you're at it, go see him live.  I've seen him 10-12 times now and I've never been disappointed.  He'll blow your mind.

On Warmer Music is a great Chisel song.  Get the Ted Leo/Rx albums first though.  Then go to Chisel for the deep cuts.

I second all of that. Ted live = unstoppable.
