The Jonathan Ames-penned "Bored" centers on Jonathan (Schwartzman), a struggling thirtysomething Brooklyn writer with a drinking problem who, after a painful breakup with his girlfriend, decides to emulate his heroes from the novels of Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett. He takes out an ad pretending to be a private detective and starts taking cases -- solving some and making others worse.
Hung, about a high school basketball coach who happens to be gifted with an unusually large male appendage. Hung was created by Dmitry Lipkin and Colette Burson (The Riches), and the pilot was directed by Alexander Payne (Election, Sideways) — a dream come true for Lipkin and Burson, who envisioned the show having the same feel as one of Payne’s films. Payne will remain on board as an executive producer.
