I think the main point is that he DEFINITELY knew that AP Mike wasn't exactly a fan and he came on anyway. I really like the fact that they had an aggressive online relationship, but when they happened to meet the animosity kind of fizzled.
Makes you wonder what would happen in (fill in the name of your favorite miscreant) showed up at a Tom meet and greet.
