Scott McCarl / The Raspberries
« on: February 12, 2007, 03:18:28 PM »
I couldn't believe it when Tom was trying to drag late-era Raspberries guitarist Scott McCarl through the trash heap last week. "Rose Colored Glasses" is one of the best songs on that whole record!

The original Raspberries aren't unimpeachable, anyway. At least the McCarl-era Raspberries never recorded anything as dopey as "Drivin' Around" from Fresh. I don't even like thinking about that song. It's like a Kokomo/Sha Na Na mashup as performed by John Stamos. BOO!

"Cry" is one of my favorites of theirs, I was relieved that Tom ended up ok'ing it. I would have been obligated to change my opinion to keep in line with the FOT creed.

They definitely do have some bad ones, of which "Driving Around" is one, I agree.
