A Wedding Scenario...
« on: August 14, 2009, 11:02:57 AM »
Dear Tom,

If you and Jillian Barberie were hosting a wedding, what kind of music would you play to really get people on the dance floor? Do you have any suggestions for songs? Anything that pops into mind?

I'm hitting a road block in figuring out some of the music and you are always a good source for tunes. Any help you or your lady friend could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,
Me

Erika, my knowledge of music is obviously not as thorough as the Scharpling household's but this is the "dance music" part of the playlist I did for my wedding. You might find some ideas there.

I didn't play it all, and ended up skipping to some favorites, as it's too long. My idea was to not just have music that music nerds would like.

I also needed to find a "dirty" song for the bit where you put that lace thingie on a girl's leg.  Used Jay Z's "Money Cash Hos."

Sorry about the formatting.  It's too hard to get tabs to work correctly when you're pasting something in.

Depends on the number of old farts at a given wedding. Never underestimate the power of Motown to bridge across the ages. Don't pander to either age group, but know that trying to rock the obscure b-side will mean half the people will take a moment to return to the bar or buffet.
