Enter Sandman
« on: October 09, 2009, 05:07:26 PM »
I want to read it but there are so many versions of it.

Any recommendations of where to start?

(I'm talking about the Neil Gaiman illustrated novels and not the Metallica song)

Just read them in order.  The different versions are just different collections of the comics.  You can research and find out which collections have which comics.

Who knew James Hetfield was a big reader?

I'm guessing I meant collections as opposed to versions ( :-[ ).

I think I mistakenly assumed that everyone had read the Sandman series and that I had totally missed the boat.

Thanks YesNo, I just didn't want to start bidding on Ebay wildly with no plan.

I'm assuming we're talking about the Neil Gaiman character here right? The collections are numbered 1-10 I think. Plus, there is Absolute Sandman which is 4 volumes. Either way, you get the entire collection.

I found what I was looking for:

http://www.amazon.com/Sandman-Companion-Dreamers-Award-Winning-Graphic/dp/1563896443/ref=sid_dp_dp

I have now dived into the world of illustrated graphic novels and am loving it.
