Comedy Central scored its highest-rated series premiere with the debut of The Jeff Dunham Show Thursday night.

The Oct. 22 launch averaged 5.3 million total viewers, including 3 million adults 18 to 49, according to Nielsen data. The premiere boosted Comedy Central to its highest-rated and most-watched night of the year, according to network officials.

The show was the highest-rated and most-watched show in cable for Thursday prime among adults 18 to 49, as well as men 18 to 34 and guys 18 to 24.

The debut of The Jeff Dunham Show represents a double for the comedian, whose Christmas special last November was Comedy's most-watched show ever with 6.6 million viewers.

According to Pollstar, Dunham was the highest-grossing stand-up comic in North America in 2008 with $19.2 million garnered through ticket sales.

Good news for the Z-Man and Tom's new protege, Wally Wackaman. Puppet humor is in.

Was there ever any doubt?

Spike Lee is angry at Tyler Perry because he's dumbing things down.  Good news, Mr. Lee: this is proof that it's not exclusive to any one group.

The greatest trick the devil ever played was convincing the world Jeff Dunham was funny.

Yep, nothing funnier than thinly-veiled racism! Why am I not surprised that this jerk set a record for Comedy Central?

Wonder what happened?

I never watched a minute of it, but Comedy Central (with the exception of Reno 911!) died for me the day I got my DVR.

HAHAHAHA.  Ohhhh man. Gotta say, saw this coming a mile away.

Did anybody hear/read about that disasterous performance he did for an audience of TV critics on some press junket for the show, where he started bombing and then began just mocking the critics and their failing newspapers right to their faces?  I can't imagine why he would end up getting bad reviews after something like that...
I'm warning you with peace and love.
