FOTs & WFMU people in the wild
« on: February 12, 2010, 10:25:47 PM »
Tonight at dinner in the village, I sat beside another table of 3 guys. I kept hearing "mrrmmmrmmrmrm Scharpling mrmrmr WMFU...". Turns out it was Brian Turner and friends! He was a little startled I interrupted him to ask who he was and then prattled on about Tom. I realized later that was probably rude, but I love Brian's show as well. Anyone else stumbled upon FOTs or WFMU folks in unlikely places?

YES! In the library where I work, a guy came up to check out books and commented on my WFMU shirt. Apparently he lived in Jersey for 20+ years before moving down south. I wish I could remember which show he said he listened to regularly; it's off the air now, though.

A customer at an establishment* in Maryland I was working at a few summers ago had a WFMU t-shirt on and I started a conversation that quickly turned awkward. I've also had strangers compliment me on my 'FMU apparel on a couple of occasions.
