I thought that Ken Jeong bit was fucking TERRIBLE. He's done that "beard stroking chinese guy" bit in like 4 different shows/movies at this point, hasn't he?

UNFUNNY.

I like the show. And since I teach at a community college with like 11 thousand students, I think I get 11000 votes.

I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

So. Searching for "Community"  wasn't easy, but I lived and will assume this is the only related thread.  I just finished the season 1 dvd and am kind of blown away at how a show that started as faintly amusing, but also annoyingly self-aware, flourished this much over the course of its first season to end so brilliantly.  The first sign of greatness was the amazingly odd school mascot, but the chicken fingers and paintball episodes late in the season are two of the most ambitious and well-executed genre parodies I've seen on tv maybe ever. I generally don't even care about parodies, mainly because they're rarely so inspired. I mean, in my opinion those episodes crush that dated stuff in Spaced, for example.  I'm almost worried about catching up with season 2 now in case its not up to snuff (probably unfounded... I hope)

It bums me out that this show is probably heading toward cancellation but it's too good not to eventually develop the Arrested Development-sized cult following it deserves.  The fact that Donald Glover is obviously going to be a star won't hurt its chances.

Also, Ken Jeong started as an awful weak link but ended up providing what I thought was the greatest moment of the series in the paintball episode.

On just about any other show, that paintball episode would've been the typical "jump the shark" moment but somehow Community made it one of their best episodes. Season 2 has been strong so far, no need to fear. Having John Oliver pop up again the last few weeks has been a nice little touch.

At the risk of sounding like a real jerk, I haven't watched the show just because the people I work with think it's great, which is usually the kiss of death. However, it sounds like I need to give this a shot.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Excellent use of ABBA in the Halloween episode.

Besides Perfect Couples and Outsourced, Thursday night is the best night ever. Except Tuesday, of course.

Any thoughts on all the comebacks? I thought all were great, though P&R is now my favorite. I loved when Ed Helms got made at the DJ not picking a deep Dave Matthews cut.

That lead guy in Outsourced is the worst. Everyone else is just boring.

On the other hand, every single character in Parks and Rec is so great. Missing you, Mark Brendanawicz.

For real. Every character on that show would be the best character on another sitcom.

I'd love to see a Jerry spin-off, where every little thing that has ever made him happy gets made fun of.
