Pardon me getting churchy, but over the last few years I've been realizing that the last place you can actually follow Jesus is in the church. 

Don't say that. Just because the "church" doesn't want you, doesn't mean there isn't a group of people who want you to lead their fellowship. There aren't enough people like you and I still haven't found a pastor in my area who I can stand behind. You don't need "the church". Make your own.

Gilly, actually, that's where I was going with that.  I'm not always clear, and I was referring to the institutional church.  Of course, the problem with starting your own is that either it fails or it becomes an institution.  Thanks, though.  Something will happen.
