Do you think a lot of people named Mike call the show because Tom often says "Mike" when talking to AP Mike on the show, and--even though they know it's not them Tom's talking to--it sort of connects them to the show more than a listener with a different name would be?
I guess a way to test this theory would be to go back to the recent "Steve" era and compare the number of new Steve to new Mike callers.
Another theory is: Mike is a popular name.
