Tech Help: Standalone media player?

Fellow FOTs:

I can't install Winamp or any other media player at my new job and I need to listen to WFMU  archives and also the live streams to get me through the day. I have Windows Media Player but it seems to lack the proper mp3 codecs. I tried playing the "20k Windows" live streaming link and that too is always stuck on "Connecting to media..."

I need something that doesn't require installation. Is there a standalone type application that you recommend I use? I need to listen to the Real archives more than anything.

What you need is Media Player Classic:

Combine it with Real Alternative:

(Really, all youse guys should uninstall your clunky Real One Players and use Real Alternative instead.)

Yes. Real Alternative. It includes Media Player Classic. No install needed = perfect for work.

I just figured something with "Real" in the name might do the trick, given that FMU offers a Real stream.  Lord knows I make no claim to expertise in this area.

Thanks all. I am a long-time fan of Real Alternative but I never realized there was a standalone version of it - I always did an actual installation. I'll try and see if I can make it work.
