Louie is really good, but get ready to be depressed as much as laughing out loud. Which is exactly what it's going for and why it's successful.
I gotta say, I'm in the same boat. I've always been a huge fan of the 30 minute sitcom as a way to just sit down for 30 minutes and laugh. I haven't been able to get into the favorites like Modern Family, 30 rock, Parks and Rec, and Community. Really the only comedies on right now that I'm into are Louie, Bored to Death and Big Bang. The new network sitcoms coming up this fall look terrible.
