Has anybody heard of this guy? My in-laws had tickets to his show at the Target Center tonight and he sold out the arena. I had to drop them off because they are from rural MN and don't/can't drive in the big city, and it was really funny. Hundreds of 60-70 somethings walking around waiting for the concert to start not to mention charter buses lined up all the way down First Avenue. Just crazy!

So who is this guy and how did he get so big with the old ladies? From what I have read he's an Irish singer who is on PBS once in awhile and just sings old country tunes and some old rock and roll songs. I just don't get how that sells out stadiums. I'm sure some of the artists he covers are still alive but those guys probably couldn't sell out a casino show. He's only in his 50's as well so it's not like people grew up on his music...well they might have grown up on the music he sings, but not him.

I'm completely baffled...anybody have any info on this guy?

Ew boy!

I guess he's a lot like Cliff Richard or someone, in that every 60+ woman fancies him.. he's a bit of a charmer, calling to his fans for tea and stuff. I didn't know he was massive in America, but there's a big audience for the whole Irish thing I suppose.. covers of Danny Boy and all that shite.

Jjjjust like the Eurovision, he was lovingly parodied in an episode of Fr. Ted

"Eoin McLove, pop superstar (whose hits include 'My Lovely Mayo Mammy'), visits the Parochial House when Mrs Doyle, implausibly, wins a poetry competition. He explains that his obtuse behaviour is connected to the fact that, as he explains, "I've no willy". Based on Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell."

BEST SHOW: EXERCISE AND EATING WELL
