Speaking of things ending, Arthur seemingly died a couple of months ago.  I was honestly bummed out. I had admired it on the East Coast, then once I moved to L.A. it became the center of the whole freak-folk thing, which, slightly irritating as it slowly became, seemed like pretty much the only game in town.  Arthur held some truly great concerts in L.A., then right when they seemed to be at their peek, the bottom fell out and it seemed to be over.  Well, now they're back, and I gotta say, I actually kinda wish they stayed dead.  Check out this cover:

When I saw this thread, I thought it was a magazine devoted only to the 1981 (Almost Sir) Dudley Moore, Liza Minelli and (Sir) John Gielgud vehicle.  I tried to imagine the articles - "Remake - Who Should Star?", "Arthur III - The Lost Script."  The mind boggles.

Imagine my disappointment when I saw it was just another bunch of hippies.

Sad.  I remember finding a copy in Tonic on the Lower East Side and being excited about what was in it, though all I can remember was a profile of Alan Moore, which was not as ubiquitous as it is today.

Wait a second, so do I!  Who am I kidding, I'll probably be all over this thing, but first I have to rip the cover off.  Time was when they even had M.I.A. on the cover, and Ian Svenonius interviewing Peaches.  The last two years it's kinda gone full-force L.A. trustafarian unforch.

I'll add this to the list of there-are-many-things-in-life-I-cannot-predict-but-there-are-at-least-a-few-things-I-am-certain-of: I will never read this magazine.
