The Black Lips are awesome live. I suspect they tone down the asshole factor when the venues they play treat them like professionals. The venue I work for treated them like professionals, and they kicked major ass.

Some of their fans are douchebags, which is not entirely their fault.

I think their records are amazing. They write great fucking songs that show taste well beyond their years. I don't give a crap about the sideshow. They'll grow up, break up, and people will be looking back on them as something real that they would kill to see again.
