Austin City Limits Festival
« on: August 25, 2007, 01:26:13 AM »
My little sister bought me a ticket for my birthday back in May.  I am going through the list of bands and I know which big name bands I want to go see, but are any of these smaller bands worth checking out?  Don't get me wrong, I'll be checking out bands I don't know, but I'd like to make some educated guesses when there are 5 bands playing at a time.

Headlocks- I'm havin' a time
Drunk Tank- not so much a time

Bingo- I'm havin' a time
House Arrest- I'm still havin' a time

i am a big fan of midlake, a band that gets endless comparisons to radiohead, grandaddy and fleetwood mac, i'm not sure if that's a good thing in the world of fot.

the broken west is another band that i like. they're a fun country tinged power pop group that quad-p would be proud of.

both my sister and I are in to Midlake, so we'll definitely be checking them out.

She told me that the only bands she cared about seeing were Pete Yorn and Damien Rice and I told her that she would be going to those concerts by herself.

Not exactly "hot rock", but the Ocote Soul Sounds remind me of the Budos Band but with more bongos (yikes).

So help me I like it! ...check it out.

I know I'm late to party on this one, but I just joined the board this week.

I hope you got a chance to see Ike Reilly.  I think he's making the best music in North America and has been for the last seven years.
