More fool me
« on: November 07, 2007, 10:23:55 AM »
I came in to the show late, after the interview had begun. I caught on pretty quickly that Tom was into straight-man mode and that the guest was playing a role. But I did not know who it was. I had not caught up on the forum, so didn't see Tom's announcement.

So, I am in the chat, as gaughin, sadly, and somebody says something like "I think that's Fred Armisen."

Well, it sounds good to me, so I add a supportive "Yes, it does sound like Fred Armisen."

A few minutes pass, and he slips out of character for a line, and I think, yes, I am almost sure that's Fred Armisen.

So I announce "Hey, I think that really IS Fred Armisen."

No one bothered to tell me that the Fred Armisen appearance had been announced in advance by The Kid.

I felt so foolish.

Great selection of pre-show songs last night. 30 Days in the Hole? Are you kidding me? That got me so fired up when I listened to the archive a few minutes ago, I immediately got on Amazon to check out prices for a CD version of Rockin the Fillmore.

Awesome.

Interstellar Overdrive was an eye opener too, especially after I had adjusted to Camper Van Beethoven's version over the intervening years. Was it by Pink Floyd, or THE Pink Floyd?

The Pink Floyd, in glorious monoural sound. At least it was here, with my crappy reception.
