Kraftwerk: The Movie
« on: November 15, 2007, 03:31:01 PM »
Kraftwerk star as a team of spies trying to prevent a dictator from unleashing a nuclear holocaust on Cold War Eastern Europe. They ride vintage racing bikes all decked out in Pee Wee's Big Adventure style gadgets. It lands somewhere in Pink Panther territory in terms of humor.

Help me out with this one.

I think a straight-ahead remake of Help! set in Germany, with Kraftwerk in place of the Beatles, and Kraftwerk music in place of Beatles music, is what's called for here.  No need to gild the lily - Kraftwerk grimly running away from legions of shrieking German teens is all you need.

That, or you could just repackage Das Boot as the Kraftwerk movie.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

Racing bikes would have to enter into it, all the guys in Kraftwerk are huge bike nerds. Breaking Away meets Revenge Of The Nerds?

I've always assumed that Kraftwerk is basically the same as Mannheim Steamroller.  Or Can.  Am I right?
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

You could do it as The Warriors, but with Kraftwerk versus Mannheim Steamroller, Can, and you guys name the rest of the bands, I'm not going to pretend like I can keep up with the obscure music references.  Though there was that prog-rock band that Billy Joel was in, that should be in there.

Good lord, did I actually scoop some of you guys on a music-nerd factoid?  Though I got it from the WFMU blog, so I suppose it doesn't count:

The bare bones: Attilla, 1970, awfulsome, a hippified Billy in some kind of medieval armor standing among a bunch of raw meat.

I have the Atilla album.  They're like the real Spinal Tap, only funnier.  And I have a Kraftwerk tattoo, can I have a cameo?

Ever see Kraftwerk Triffit das Wolfmann?  Funny cameo by Fassbinder as a frightened bellhop.

(almost as funny as my previous mangling of the title)
