Joe Frank or Grant-Application Workshop??

Seems like a no-brainer, but I have to make this decision fast!  Joe Frank is speaking at the school where I work at 6.  But way down in downtown L.A. (closer to where I live) is a grant-application workshop for a grant I could really really really use to forward myself in this world.  I should probably do the self-advancement thing, but I used to be OBSESSED with Joe Frank and feel like this would be a good "closure" for me, to see him speak.  But maybe it would just be a snooze!  But maybe the other thing would be a snooze!  Shit!  Both these things are happening in less than two hours.  Which ONE??!

Go for the grant then try and make it to Joe Frank.
If you go for the Grant, you might be able to make it to some of the event and even if you don't get in you'll have money to maybe see him next time or to travel to somewhere he is playing.
On the other hand if you go, the best thing that could happen is you'd have an enjoyable evening and then curse yourself the rest of the year for having no money. It might not even be that great.
I feel you already know this, you just need to hear it from someone else.

You said it exactly, Jason.  Thanks.  There's no way I can do both, because of the laws of space and time (they're thirty miles apart...)  but the Grant thing makes more sense as an adult.  Years ago I was deep into Joe Frank's hyper-articulate sad-sack melodrama, but now I'm older and more desperate for dough than I am for bitter ruminations on death and despair.  Thanks for the help!
