"Alright, well, for the sake of this conversation, let's say the book does not exist."

Can we call the sequel Double Dutch? And I even have a set-up to get us to that point. After Dutch gives his rousing speech "My Vietnam" (which ironically has very little to do with Vietnam, and more to do, really, with beer,) from the steps of the Senate, the speech is loaded up on Youtube where it becomes almost as popular as "Fat Star Wars Kid".

Sometime later, Tamara, a little girl with a sweet heart who lives in the ghetto, decides to steer herself away from the mean streets by focusing on her dream to become the International Double Dutch champion. When her training hits a wall that she can not get beyond, she seeks help from the Internet. Wandering into a public library, she youtubes "Dutch", hoping for insightful peeks into the world of Double Dutch, the tricks, the ins and outs, and gets routed to OUR HERO Dutch's rousing speech. It inspires her, not only to redouble her efforts (that's 4 times as much), and begins to obsess on the idea of trying to convince Dutch the man to be her Double Dutch/motivational coach.

From there it's basically Dutch as Mickey to her Rocky.

I am also working on a treatment for the inevitable Disney Channel tv series, Dutch Treat.

Dave - I think you just summed up the plot for Season 5 of The Wire.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Or maybe the Half Nelson prequel.
