Old Time Radio
« on: April 25, 2008, 12:21:38 PM »
Inspired by the old time comedy thread (http://www.friendsoftom.com/forum/index.php/topic,2487.0.html), I ask about this site:

http://otr.net/

This "Old Time Radio" network has literally thousands of episodes of radio programs, many (most?) of which I know nothing at all.  Lots of comedy (Burns&Allen, Abbott&Costello, Jack Benny, Milton Berle, a handful of Bob&Ray), some recognizable names (Tarzan, Have Gun, Will Travel, Flash Gordon), but lots of unknowns and intriguing titles (Frontier Gentlemen, This is Your FBI, Strange Doctor Weird, Speed Gibson of the International Secret Police, I Was a Communist for the Fbi, Casey Crime Photographer).

Please check it out (at least the list of titles) and share any recommendations!

*warning* files seem to be only in .ram / realplayer format.

I wouldn't bother with real audio files (except for WFMU), but there are lots of other OTR sources.

I like the sci-fi show X-1, and Nero Wolfe detective stories.
