So we were passing by Pizza Land from the Soprano's opening credits (turnpike was closed down for part of the 4th). My friend slows down so I can take a picture. I get a nice one, but then some Jersey guy who had been yucking it up in front of the building next door with some friends and ladies yells out-- seriously-- "Hey! You want a real picture! Take a picture of this!" You can imagine the pantomime that accompanied this declaration. I cannot imagine a better thing to happen after having taken a picture of Pizza Land.
There were several other fantastic "Jersey guy" encounters in and around the Bloomfield area, and while I shall cherish the memories none can really be put into words. Note that I am a NJ native and I still find these guys intense and insane. 10 years 12 years away will do that. Nothing like 'em anywhere else.
I also had an ice cream soda at Holstein's, setting of the final Soprano's scene, as well as eating at a few of the places Mr. Rock Star recommended.
