Living Off The Grid
« on: August 02, 2008, 09:59:12 PM »
I have been without a phone for two weeks now. My Crackberry fell out of my pocket somewhere on my walk to work, and my work has promised to replace it but they have been seriously dragging their feet. I had often wondered how I would/could deal with having no phone at all for an extended period of time. Has anyone else been through this? And did you find anything positive about the experience? I'm trying to see the good in it, to no avail. Also, talking on Skype can be a very frustrating experience, as one extremely close FOT could surely attest.

I don't own a cell phone.

I like it that way.

Fair enough, but you still have a land line, right?

I consider my cellphone a nuisance, so when I read this, I seriously considered getting rid of my cellphone.

This is my longwinded way of saying I cannot relate.

I do.  I really only send or receive a call once or twice a week though.  The telemarketers find my land line more comforting than I do.

I'd find not having access to the internet much more crippling.

if they're extremely close, why do you need to talk to them through Skype?

That's gold, Jerry!
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!
