thanks for that link. I really miss the Morning Sedition.
I used to go to live broadcasts they did around the city. Gpt to meet Run from Rum DMC at one show. He even autographed my Run DMC album.

My favorite character on that show was Lawton Smalls. that was Kent Jones calling in as southern right wing nut. His calls would start out all angry and then he would cry like a baby to Marc, only to come back mean and nasty. Probably inspired by Scharpling and Wurster but it would alway leave me laughing.

Lawton Smalls is hilarious ... I guess that Kent Jones still calls in as Lawton on some of the other Air America shows. That's cool you got to see some of the live broadcasts ... were you at the live show where Pendejo the Revolutionary made an appearance.

I do remember the show they did at The Coffee Shop in Manhattan where Pendejo showed up. I'm trying to remember if that was Kent Jones as well.

Unfortunately Air America fired Kent Jones earlier this year. Rachel Maddow was very upset about it on the air. It seems that Air America's management was hell bent on eliminating any of the comic elements from their show. Too bad.

It seems they're generally hellbent on eliminating stuff that's any good at all.

Ahmen to that. It's a shame too. We could really use a vital left wing radio network to spread the word this year. i remember when they started in 04. I used to check their website everyday to see how many more stations they had added. Even though Kerry lost it was good to have voices like Maron or Mike Malloy or even Al Franken to call out the Bush Crime Family on their lies.

I'm proud the Best Show had a hand in some the programming there.

They've themselves nearly irrelevant these days. the NYC station will play only two AAR shows. They cut out two hours of Sam Seder's Sunday show.
The shame of it is that good radio is very rarely rewarded.
