I just started listening to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History podcast.
This sounds awful, but he has the same interest in history that I have, and makes things fun. He's all about the human experience; what was it like to be a Roman legionnaire and battle an elephant, what was it like to encounter a full on Mongol horse archer attack, and other such horrible greatness.
If you're into that sort of thing, check it out.

EDIT: maybe not of this ilk
I'm a big fan of Hardcore History too, although I wish the shows were more frequent. I've been trying to get into his current events podcast Common Sense, but I think I enjoy the history one much more.
Another history podcast I enjoy a lot is
My History Can Beat Up Your Politics. It's a little dry, but the host takes current American political issues and contextualizes them with similar and sometimes long forgotten situations from American history. It's generally very well researched and I almost always end up learning something new and fascinating.
One that's in no way similar to The Best Show is a sports podcast called
On the DL with Dan Levy. I am becoming a big fan of this as well, it's a little Philly-centric, but the host (who's I think is the son of a sportswriter) is well connected and does a good job interviewing some pretty well known sports media figures like Michael Wilbon, Stefan Fatsis, and Jeremy Schaap along with sports blog types like Will Leitch, AJ Daulerio and Brian Powell.
