The Missing Wrinkler

Sarah,

From the comments section of the most gripping story I've read in recent memory, it looks as though your fellow townsman has met an untimely end.

It's fascinating to me that the comments on the story show what happened before the newspaper reports it.  We are in a new age.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

They found the wrinkler's body today.  Well, an unidentified body had washed ashore by the S curve on South Lubec Road (local color for you), and one imagines it was his.  Unfortunately, no matter what the autopsy reveals, people will continue to believe he was murdered. since the alternative--that he was a drugged idiot who was doing a dumb thing--is more painful to them (especially since it would mean that when they go out wrinkling at night while high, they, too, are courting death).

More local color:  "Lubec wrinkle-buyer Ollie Blake of Lubec" (nicely put, don't you think?) was one of the carpenters who worked on this house when I first moved here, and his business, the Wrinkle Wracket, used to be up the street from me.  Time was, he had a crush on me, as he confessed after he had recovered.
