holy cow. i just saw the porno episode.  craziest, funniest, half hour of tv i've seen in a loooooooooooong time.

Yeah, me too. I really like the characterization of Roman. Having a nasty, arrogant nerd is refreshing, and it's a type that has become under-represented in movies and television. Nerds aren't all shy and sweet - lots of them are fucking assholes!

The end of Episode 9, where Ken is screaming "Call an ambulance" through a sheet of puke - I laughed so fucking hard.

And it's the first comedy these dudes have ever done.  Krazy.

Party Down is the most uneven of the four [the other three being Eastbound and Down, Delocated, and 30 Rock], which is understandable given that it's a first season and was done on the super-cheap/fast.

But Eastbound and Down and Delocated were first-season efforts as well.  I'm confused.

Fair enough, but Eastbound had HBO money behind it, and Delocated had fewer episodes.
I don't know why I made that distinction, either.  All 3 shows kick ass.  Enough said.

I am six episodes in and I like it. I worked for four years as the bar manager at a private yacht club in the Bay Area. We did around 60 - 80 special events a year. I can relate to this show in more ways than I care to admit.

I've been meaning to watch this for awhile and THEN I FIND OUT THAT THERE IS A CHARACTER NAMED RON DONALD. Which is the name of a character for a comedy thing I've been working on. BUMMER, DUDE.

Not totally unrelated - "The Wonder Years" star Fred Savage is a producer and director on both.
