I'm a fan of Evans, but I'm more a fan of competitive/exciting bouts. So I'm a bit broken up about it.

I just demonoided the main event.  I liked it because it was a lot more slow and strategic than I thought it would be, like boxing.  Also, I've studied grappling in krav maga before, and it's fascinating.  But it's not that exciting to watch.  So it's nice that the fights aren't totally dominated by grapplers like I thought they were.

It can be the co-main event was mostly a grappling BJJ stalemate. You can get get quick flashy KO's/subs, long strategic back and forth boxing/kickboxing or boring ass stalemates. Part of what makes the sport fun for me.

A lot of my good friends are into MMA but I have no love whatsoever for it. It stinks, because I think I'm going to lose contact with those friends since when they go out, they are going out to watch a fight.

well said. There's plenty of room to examine the deeper aspects of sport and the fighters, Machida is a great example, the whole deal with his father and how he raised his kids....oh boy. We're more on the crass commercial side of things now but give it time.

you bitches talk the talk , the ref intervene to sooooon!!! he was thinking of stopping it earlier, i watched this ref done this many times and he does not pass the qualifications of being a MMA ref. I think he should took time to warn kimbo,, like Big john and what other refs do, those little girly punches wont hurt kimbo that much. He shoud have told kimbo to protect himself and if not he will stop the fight. This ref would be a very good basketball ref, but not a MMA ref. Watch the video closely if he is really into fighters safety he should have break the fight when petruzzeli hit kimbo at the back of the head 4:55 what im saying is this ref is a sissy and is more nervous than the fighters. he should have wait another 30 seconds to 1 minuite , after all it is a main event and this fighters are very well prepared for this war. personally , I think they should have a rematch. with a different ref ofcourse.

This happened to me in 2005 with stupid Texas Hold 'Em poker. Suddenly that's all anyone was doing at every party and there was no escape from it. Eventually I saw the friends less and less until they eventually got sick of it.
