I think Mike Judge is about 15 years late on the "making fun of political correctness" meme. I still like King of the Hill ... actually I haven't seen King of the Hill in a long time, so I don't know if I still like it.

King of the Hill's main enemy was political correctness about 80% of the time. What does Mike Judge have left to say about PC that Hank Hill hasn't thoroughly debunked by now?

I could never understand why KOTH needed to be animated. I find that visual style truly ugly, and there is nothing in the show's format that couldn't have worked as well or better as live action.

I don't know what show was more disappointing: Sit Down, Shut up  or The Goode Family. Both are probably the worst pilots I''ve watched in quite some time.

The most annoying part about the Goode Family, for me at least, was how two-dimensional the characters were. It seems like Judge thinks it's okay to depict conservative characters in King of the Hill like Hank Hill in a realistic fashion, but his liberal hippie characters can all just be over-exaggerated stereotypes.

I haven't seen the show, but pilots are often not so great. I think it's possible this show will find its legs. Judge is a pretty smart guy.

I don't really give a shit if the show makes fun of lefties if it's funny (which I'm willing to accept that so far, it's not funny). The premise doesn't offend me, and I actually think it's potentially pretty fertile ground.
