Best Fake Live Songs/Albums
« on: December 19, 2009, 09:57:46 AM »
I've always had a weakness for songs with fake crowd noise and fake banter.

Some ones I can think of:

BMX Bandits featuring Catherine--"Islands in the Stream" (song)

Mr. T Experience--"Strum ünd Bang, Live!?" (ep) (featuring crowd noise from Kiss Alive II and other sources)

Shaggy 2 Grote

I recently downloaded a fake Britney Spears live album that some lovable mutant made.  He just took 3 discs of Britney Spears songs and pasted in generic crowd screaming at the beginning and end of them all.  It's kind of great.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

"John E. Smoke" by the Butthole Surfers.  What's best about it for me is that the crowd gets louder and more insane at times that really make no sense, given that Gibby is babbling like his usual self.

I hope the lovable mutant threw this old-time internet classic into the mix.

I love "John E. Smoke"

I've been thinking that their are several very distinct varieties and contexts to be employed in the "fake live" strategy.

This Hendrix song features "fake bar noise" (as opposed to "fake concert noise"). Lots of clanking glasses throughout.

And I really like this one, which is underscored by fake disco party noise:

KISS Alive!, Alive II and presumably Alive III.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

"You can't have it both ways" by the Juan MacLean, but mostly because it's one of the only dance songs I can recall with said crowd noise.
