Any fans of the newest MLS team here?

I went to the home opener this past Saturday against D.C. United and had an utter blast. The game had such highs and lows. Le Toux was amazing. United's cheap second goal almost had a riot in the supporters section. I can honestly say this is the first time that I've been so excited about a sports team that I'm going to try to watch every game and get to every home game. I've always liked sports but in a more passing fashion. However, the inner soccer fanatic in me came out the minute I heard that Philly was getting their own team. I think part of the reason is having a "home" team that I don't feel like I picked randomly to start liking (as I would have to do to follow the EPL and other European football teams).

I was sitting in the supporters section with the Sons of Ben and that was amazing experience. Except for the friends-of-an-acquaintance who were drunken messes and tried too hard to act like English hooligans what with constant chants of "let's get fucking mental" and "you're all cunts". Ugh.

Except for that, it was thrilling and awesome.

Anybody else go?

(Another low light, the boos that Joe Biden got when he came out at the beginning of the game.)

I'm a Red Bulls supporter. I went to the stadium's opener (exhibition against a Brazilian team) and I had a similarly great experience as you. We sat near the supporters section and I give them credit -- loud singing, cheering the whole game.  The Red Bulls stadium is pretty sick -- worth heading up the turnpike for the 4/24 match against the Union. I think that is the next game I can hopefully get to. I think the US team is playing an exhibition in May in Philly that I may go to.

Your team has a great coach -- Peter Nowak. He does well everywhere.

Good to see another MLS supporter here-- well, actually anywhere for that matter.

As a Red Bulls supporter, it's my duty as a Union fan to hate you, however since we're both FOT, I'll give that a pass. I'm going to try my damnedest to get up to your new stadium. It looks fantastic. I'm very excited for PPL Park here in Chester to open up. It has a pretty amazing view of the river right over the supporters section.

I'm also trying to go to the US team "farewell friendly" against Turkey. Should be fun.
