The "Give me an F-ing Break" Files
« on: April 22, 2007, 11:53:06 AM »
Please list things that make you say "Give me an F-ing Break":

1) When I have a client (I am a legal aid lawyer) come in who is being sued for default on their purchase of a $45000 truck at 20% interest which they purchased despite olnly making $15K a year and having 3 kids.

Give me an F-ing break.

2) Surchanges on buying tickets. Why am I paying $10.00 so that Ticketmaster can print the ticket for 4 cents and spend 20 cents mailing it to me.

Give me an F-ing break.

Is this to the people with the debt or to the asshole lenders who prey upon poor people who make poor decisions?

As I have lengthy experience with both.

I regularly fight evil creditors. But I have to shake my head at people who think that this sort of borrowing is a good idea. I regularly ask clients if they understand what interest is and the answer is uniformly no.

Many many many creditor, particularly motor-credit lenders and credit-card-companies are particularly preditory in their practices.

Seriously? $45,000 for a truck?
Interest or no interest that's some "give me an f-ing break" stupidity right there.

When people who have children feel like they have more of a right to government benefits than people who have chosen to be responsible and use birth control.

When people who haven't done any kind of research accuse sick people of being lazy.

When people carry nunchucks around during social gatherings.

Give me an F-ing BREAK.
