How do you disable new topic notifications?

I keep getting emails every time somebody starts a new topic.

Hover over Profile, click on Forum Profile, hover over Modify Profile, click on Notifications, and uncheck what is checked.

That's more or less correct.  You'll have to figure out what I've screwed up, but it's enough to go on.
