Ladyfriend and I are flying across the country for vacation next week. I'll be in San Francisco and I'm looking for some fun/interesting things to see and do. We're renting a car for a day, so SF and its closer environs are within our reach. I've looked up all the cliche touristy stuff and have them on my checklist, but I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? Restaurants, shops, neighborhoods? We're staying in a hostel, so that should give you some idea of our budget. Thanks in advance, San Franciscans.
