Montreal/Toronto FOTs! Come out and say hi!
« on: May 03, 2011, 09:39:20 PM »
Hey everyone!

I'm starting the first bit of my book tour this weekend. On Thursday, May 5, I'll be at Drawn and Quarterly in Montreal (211 Bernard) for Tru(ish) Stories, a panel discussion with David Collier and Phillipe Girard about our new graphic novels.

Then on May 7-8, I'll be at TCAF, the comic arts festival held at the Toronto Reference Library on Yonge St. I'll be there with my new book, True Story, an anthology of comic strips based on real stories. It's got over 100 stories - including stories from Tom Scharpling and Paul F. Tompkins! Check it out here: http://invisiblepublishing.heroku.com/books#/books/16

I'll also have posters - Patton Oswalt and Paul F. Tompkins show posters, The Pixies, Sloan and more. You can see them at my store here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MikeHolmes

Come up and say hi and I'll do a Best Show-related sketch for you!

-Mike

Mike, your posters are brilliant! I love the Patton Oswald art work, he must have been thrilled.

Thanks! To my relief, he really liked them. He even sent along a thank-you card when I did up the second one, which I thought was a really nice gesture.

amiright??

Thanks! That was from a show at the Halifax Pop Explosion back in October - they played "Twice Removed" front to back, including b-sides and "Underwhlemed". It was stellar.

I was in Amherst when they first did that at Sappyfest, and couldn't make my way across the marsh to see it. Bummer of the summer (2010).
