Mrs. Break and I purchased some sharpened pencils from David Rees today at the Saturday Nightmares horror/sci/fi convention.  He did some very impressive sharpening and had some really beautiful equipment including:

While David was sharpening our pencils a confused Bruce Dern walked up and asked us how the get back to the main room.  While he did not purchase a sharpened pencil I later saw this:

Michael Kupperman has his Twitter location as "Hades" so perhaps there is something to that.

He also has a (mostly) weekly comic again (http://www.fantagraphics.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=category&sectionid=6&id=42&Itemid=109) and an amazing new book coming in the Fall. And he is a nice dude. David Rees too.
