Ok so I have had a Numark USB tt in my bedroom for a little over a year and am interested in trying out it's USB capabilities for a project I am working on. I have it hooked up via usb and using audacity to record the sound and all that works just fine. But there is a slight scratchiness that isn't there when I listen through my receiver. This is connected straight through my turntable and there seems to be no bass at all. It can't sound like this for everyone who transfers, right? Any ideas? Also my needle is awesome so it isn't that.

I don't have one of these, so I can only guess at a few possibilities:
You may be getting some hard drive noise (magnet hum, or other noise just from the drive moving around close to your soundcard) or some weird grounding issue.  If you have a laptop this is a pretty high possibility, as it's happened to me before with audio gear.  I ended up using an external audio card, which solved the problem.

You may want to see about plugging in via the audio outs of the TT if you can instead of via USB and see if that solves it.
I don't know about the bass issue though.  Are you able to monitor the audio going into your computer as it plays through and see how it sounds live?  Just to be sure that it's not the program you're using to rip the audio that's causing issues.

As ChipSuey suggested, if it sounds a lot better through your receiver, try going from your receiver to your mic in (or line in or whatever) on your computer. See if this improves things. If so, then your USB connection is screwy. If not, then it's probably a software issue of some kind.

It was actually a simple line in audio volume issue. Got it sorted out and it sounds great. Thanks for the help.
