Slam Dance 2012 - The World Cup of Punk and Hardcore

Disclaimer: This is a project that I'm working on. So if this is too much self-promotion, feel free to delete the thread.

WXDU in Durham, NC is running a sort of World Cup/March Madness of punk from now through the beginning of April. We've seeded a bunch of punk and hardcore bands into a 64-band bracket and are using listener votes to determine who will go through to the next round and eventually be crowned the winner. Every Monday from 10pm-midnight we're doing a Sportscenter-style discussion of the results and playing some excellent music from the winners and losers.

Voting has just started, and there are some excellent match-ups in the first round. Dead Kennedys vs Ramones. Misfits vs Buzzcocks. There are also some chances for smaller bands to become dark horse candidates. Really Red vs Agent Orange. Adolescents vs Dillinger Four.

So, yeah, vote your conscience. Discuss. Fight. Whatever.
