In the archives, somewhere, one show's opening set concluded with a long song with a spanish title. The band name was probably also spanish.

I remember the chorus was sort of staccato instrumentation and the lyrics were:

SOOOOOOMETHING SOOOMETHING HEEEEY
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RAIN

(I'm sure about the word MIDDLE.)

And I think the song title had the phrase "en medio"

Anyone know what the heck I'm talking about?

Is this possibly the song you're looking for? "Somewhere in the middle" Von Hertzen brothers....

I bet it was something from THE SPANISH TRIP, a CD compilation of obscure 70's Spanish garage rock. Here's the tracklist: http://rateyourmusic.com/release/comp/various_artists_f2/the_spanish_trip__23_obscure_freak_artifacts_from_the_spanish_underground_scene/

I know that he played "Se me escapó una ilusión" by Nuevos Horizontes w/ Jose y Manuel around that time. I liked the song so much that I bought the CD from Forced Exposure. http://www.forcedexposure.com/labels/bang.bang.records.spain.html The whole thing is pretty amazing.
