A note to the Power Pop set Re: Cheap Trick
« on: June 28, 2007, 10:14:13 AM »
The pop fanatic caller, who spoke of Power Pop, Popop's baby's mama was wrong, Cheap Trick is from Rockford, not Champaign. Soft serve for a pop fanatic to miss that one.

I once dined a table away from Rick Nielsen at the sushi place he owns in Rockford, my wife is a native, her mom taught the band members kids. Cheap Trick is all Rockford has, don't take it from them.

i heart Cheap Trick. i've been wanting to be Rick Nielsen for Halloween for a few years now despite the whole gender obstacle. but yeah i thought it might be neat to make a fake 5-neck guitar, get a knit sweater custom made with musical notes and faces on it, wear a bow tie, flipped cap, have a bag of guitar picks to throw at people and everything. maybe i will make it happen this year.

Champaign did produce REO Speedwagon, so they've got that going for them.

But the Poster Children sort of cancel out everything.
And you know they're going to read this when they google their name.

Sarah. Where do you stand on starting sentences with conjunctions?

I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Though it is frowned upon by the purest purists, I have no objections to this practice, even in formal writing, if it's employed sparingly and to good effect.
