RIP Harris Wittels
« on: February 20, 2015, 11:07:15 AM »
I don't think he ever appeared on The Best Show, but Tom did an episode of Harris' Analyze Phish, which was pretty hilarious. Harris Wittels was a writer and co-executive producer for Parks and Recreation, a standup comedian, and creator of #humblebrag. He was a great comedic mind and died too early at the age of 30 after struggling with drug addiction. He has done innumerable funny podcast appearances on Comedy Bang Bang, Analyze Phish, WTF, and more. He was a great joke writer and I hope they never pull his Twitter feed down because reading it brings me so much joy.

RIP Harris Wittels, FOT.

I just listened to the Analyze Phish podcast this weekend and just saw his name on a Parks & Rec I watched Wednesday. Sad.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

He was obviously a troubled character. If you listen to the episodes of Analyze Phish talking about his rehab experiences you'll get an image of how deep this substance abuse thing went.
But it is really shocking that nobody could ultimately help him out of that.

Really sad that it had to end this way...
