I got my ticket! Not sure what my travel itinerary is just yet. Right now it's looking like I'll roll into town Friday night and turn back into a pumpkin the following Tuesday afternoon.

Ugh, wish I could. Much like the Chicago show, the price of the ticket isn't the issue. It's the drive. However the fact that it's being recorded makes me happy. I'll definitely be purchasing that.

I'm new to the forum.  But I'd like to go.  If y'all don't want to hang out with me, I'll be in the back nursing a beer in silence.

I'm sure there will be some sort of pre-show meetup.

As long as the ax you're holding isn't actually dripping with blood, I will be happy to meet you.

Thinking about it.  Nashville's about a five-hour drive from St. Louis, but I strongly suspect the S&W Road Show isn't going to St. Louis.  Would love to meet up with people if I do make it.  I've never called in, but listen every week.

I am driving over from Memphis.  Super-excited about a pre-show meetup, too!

If any other Memphis FOTs would be into carpooling with a weird stranger from the Internet, that might be fun!

Ticket purchased - coming up from Atlanta, most likely driving back immediately after the show.

Any suggestions on a place near Third Man that would work for a pre-show meetup? I looked on Google Maps and it looks like most of the restaurants nearby are either closed on Saturday or close in the early afternoon.

We might want to hit up some locals for suggestions. Nashville's not the most walkable city, sadly.

Asked a Nashville-ite for some suggestions. She gave me the following (notes are hers, I know nothing about these places.)

Walking distance from Third Man
Flyte ("awesome but fancy")
Pour House ("I think it's kinda douchey")

Nearish driving distance from Third Man
ML Rose ("cool")
The Sutler
Melrose Billiards ("super divey...not a place to eat")

Everything is pretty spread out, that's for sure. Pour House was one of the places I was looking at. Hopefully the douchebro quotient is lower when the sun is out. There was a pizza place nearby that sounded like it might work, but when I went to its Facebook page to see what its hours were I discovered it closed a few months ago.

I figure if we can find a place within a mile or two it shouldn't cost too much to get to Third Man if we share cabs and split the fare.

Has anyone been to a show at Third Man? I'm curious how large the room is and what the layout is like so I can figure out if it's "get there as soon as the doors open to have a hope of getting a spot" or if you can roll in whenever. I didn't get to see the Chicago show because my gallbladder was a ticking time bomb. I was in so much pain I couldn't stand for more than a couple of minutes. I was stretched out across a loveseat in the balcony and couldn't see a thing [but I heard it all!].

I think Pour House might be it, too. I think collective FOT awesomeness can outshine that vibe long enough for a meetup. I need to figure out what the parking situation is over in that area of town. I've never been to a show there. Hopefully your body will cooperate better this time.
