Depends. Maximum Fun makes their shows freely available, but has donation levels like NPR based on what you can afford with premiums for donors.

Howl.fm, on the other hand, is 4.99/month for just the archives.

Honestly, I think the Best Show should follow something closer to the Maximum Fun model - maybe add some other shows with some friends of the show (maybe put Cherry Blossom Clinic as a Best Show network show?) and it will be easier to afford to keep doing the show.

Either way, I will pay a donation or something to keep the show going.

I don't think a mandatory paywall would be a good idea, but something like a Patreon would be awesome. I'd love to chip in a few bucks every month and feel like I was doing something to support the show besides downloading the episodes and listening to DraftKings ads.
Build that website brah

I have suggested a Patreon in the past as well. I know that Tom has been opposed to making it seem like there were different levels of support, or a paywall, but it's frustrating listening to the talk about the show being in bad shape when there are plenty of us out here that would gladly contribute money on a regular basis. I know there is the merch and the box set, but I'd like to be able to contribute to the show!

I'd pay without schwag.  I just want raw uncut ready-rock Best Show.  I would also pay to hear what Tom is listening to.  He's turned me on to so many bands though out the years, and I'd like an unbiased opinion from him on what's piping though his sound system.

Honestly Tom is funny and a great entertainer, but he's also got a great team that surrounds him.  I'd love to hear a music show with Tom and Jon and Terry T and Mike.  Maybe have some now-and-then guests like Vile and Segall and Leo and Coco (maybe even Mike K).  I would pay $10 a month for 4 shows a month to hear their opinions on great new music.  I just want honest brutal opinion and the opportunity to hear the songs they'd be talking about.

We just lost a great radio station (88.5 WRAS) to NPR here in Atlanta, and that was my source for great new music.  Maybe I'm just looking for a replacement.  You never know what you have till it's gone.

Yea, I would also pay with no swag.  Although, a calendar or a limited edition t-shirt would be a good way to raise some money to pay the bills.  I can already see mike's month in this calendar.  Behind the bar at massa's, skeevy lying on the bar, passed out.  pbr attaching a starbucks to the trailer hitch on his VW beetle.

I would happily contribute via patreon or something similar.  The Best Show is basically a tonic for my sanity during my daily commute for about the three days it takes me to get through an entire episode.  I don't know how much Tom is just hamming it up when he talks about the show being in a dire financial condition, but I would, without hesitation, put in a recurring monthly donation to help keep it afloat...

i would pay whether or not i got something in return.  if you haven't yet, a great way to support the show is to go to stereolaffs store and buy one of everything.

Would love to hear Terri T on a weekly, or even monthly basis, but isn't the music rights issue too big to overcome?

I'd pay plenty and I wouldn't feel bad if most people still got it for free.

Honestly, the way Tom's been doing music is the way a lot of podcasters do it, and I don't imagine Terre T having difficulties doing something similar.

I thought he was getting label permissions. Terri played a lot of really old stuff from labels that haven't existed. Hard to get permissions, hard to even find the right people, but one play without permissions could lead to a lawsuit, since at least ostensibly this is a for-profit outfit.

That, sir, sounds like a negative probability!
