best show bitrate
« on: February 11, 2016, 10:09:09 PM »
I know it's a sensitive topic, ever since Todd got duped into buying those Steely Dan CD-Rs...

But is it possible to get a higher resolution bitrate of the Best Show?  It's at about 40 kpbs, which makes sense for a show that is largely talk-based and three hours long..but with the audio collages and the number of folks calling in on cell phones, it would be nice if it was a little less compressed-sounding. I don't know if iTunes has some kind of standard about that kind of thing..

When I Chromecast Audio the downloaded podcast, the low bitrate is very apparent. Not unlistenable, just strange.

However, I can also appreciate the limitations on a show the length of Best Show. If you raise the bitrate for a 3 hour show, you're probably making the file sizes massive.
Everyone's talking about that computer fight.
