Wanted to see if WFMU archives would stream on my cell so randomly scrolled back and launched 1/4/2011.
Amazing show.. been listening for 15 years and probably heard it before but going back to it, it's so broad, all over the place. Tom is super quick... he's a boxer, bobbing and weaving w/ the callers. He's letting people out of the Hate Pit in what feels like a good faith new years move, pushing the positive. The call from "yeary" Vernon in Brooklyn was long enough to let S+W really cover ground including an appearance by a mouse, cat and dog with capes. And Chris Christie is in NABWA (North American Buffet Wreckers Association). The theme of the show seems to be bad callers, but those WFMU listeners were so varied that it provided a ready canvas for Tom to work on.
Highjacked my whole night. Seems like a really good example of this period of the show.
