I've been enjoying John Safran versus God, which has been airing on Sundance for the last couple of months.  Poking fun at religion always appeals to me, as obnoxious as it so often may be, and Safran manages to do so while at the same time keeping a straight face and even treating his targets with some respect (his encounter with a Grand Wizard of the KKK is not to be missed, and a couple of great Catholic priests also receive air time).  The final episode, which aired last night, was, however, one of the weirder things I've ever seen in my life.  In it, Safran is exorcised of all his demons by a professional born-again practitioner of the craft.  And my god it is an astonishing bit of television.  Truly creepy.  According to something on IMDb, "John Safran maintains he has little to no recollection of the exorcism that was performed on him for the final episode of the series, and that his reactions during the ceremony were completely involuntary."  Worth seeing.
