Tom, I for one would totally understand if you packed it in.  I wouldn't eat a roll of paper towels, I'd just listen to the archive more and watch your tv show.

You just reminded me of when I first posted those Bogosian videos and someone pointed out the Rockets Redglare "assasinate the DJ" connection. I realized at the time I might have unintentionally given Tom the heebie-jeebies.  When I posted them, to me they were 95% funny and 5% creepy.  Now, re-watching them, they feel seriously tainted by recent events, kind of like that The Coup album. So I'm yanking those from the contest, too, out of respect to Tom and because they're no longer funny to me.  But I'm only angry at HWMNBN.  I can see how it read like  I was yelling at you, buffcoat, but I wasn't.  Sorry. 

I'm taking this thread title seriously and have revised my personal FOT history accordingly.  I hope others will do the same.

Just so people know - this isn't part of some 'boy who cried wolf' thing. There was no planned bit, and this is not a reprise of the Sirius thing. This was dropped on me in the middle of my show, and I dealt with it as it happened.

I appreciate that Tom posted this - I didn't really realize this was as serious as it was.  I have since thought about the fact though that tom basically is sort of out there and connects with the public in a completely unique way - a way that unfortunately has uniquely undesirable results.

I was surprised that this is as serious as it is, but I'll be sticking by "the Kid" no matter what.
